Our Mission: Bethlehem Church exists to glorify God by developing devoted followers of Jesus Christ who intentionally pursue Christlike character in their personal lives, family lives, church community, and world.

I. Introduction

The Internet contains a wealth of information for you and your family, but it also can contain personal information about you that you don’t want people to know, such as your address, phone number, or email address. Bethlehem Church is committed to protect your privacy as it relates to our web site. We respect and protect the privacy of our congregation and users. If and when we collect information from you we will clearly state why we need that information and within this Privacy Policy we will state what we do and don’t do with that information.

Bethlehem Church will not disclose your personal information to any third parties without your prior consent, unless so requested by law enforcement for identifying, contacting or bringing legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with Bethlehem Church, its website users, or anyone else that could be harmed.

There may be times when we ask you for personal information, such as your name and email address, in order to permit you to receive information from us such as schedules of events and classes, prayer lists, activities of certain ministries and organizations in the church, outreach mailing lists, etc. When we request that information, it will be clear why we need it. If you change your mind or some personal information changes (such as an address), we will provide a way for you to contact us and have that information changed, updated, or removed. Oversight - Bethlehem Church will govern the content of all church-related web sites. The Technology Committee is responsible to maintain policies relevant to the sites. The Committee, Church Staff, and volunteer workers and leaders provide input for all content of the web site. All comments and suggestions should be directed to info@bethlehemchurch.org or the church office at 973.366.3434.

II. Policies Regarding Privacy on Bethlehem Church Web-sites

The purpose of the Bethlehem Church web site(s) is (A) to promote the exchange of information among the members and friends of Bethlehem Church, (B) to provide information about the church to the community, and (C) to enhance the mission to the community by promoting the programs, aims, and outreach of Bethlehem Church.

Content- All documents, illustrations, photographs, and linked material must conform to the principles, policies and traditions of Bethlehem Church. The home page of any related web sites will provide a link to the home page of Bethlehem Church.

Links- The committee will review and approve links to other reputable sites promoting Christian values and related activities. These links will be periodically reviewed for applicability. Since these sites are not under the control of Bethlehem Church, they do not necessarily conform in every particular to the doctrines and positions of Bethlehem Church.

It is a non-profit site, supported by companies actively involved in the Internet and concerned about safety. This and other similar sites contain information for how to keep your children safe online, how to help your children interact online depending upon their age, and tools for filtering and/or blocking information online.]

Photographs- Pictures of members and friends of Bethlehem Church may appear on the web site; full names or other personal information will not be associated with the picture.
An opportunity will be provided for anyone to choose not to have their picture on the church web site; this will be announced in the church bulletin, in the newsletter, and on the web site. [Note: An exception will be members of the Staff, who will be identified with relevant biographical and ministry information.]

Names - The use of individuals name will be limited to the following:

  • Children and Youth – The first name and initial only may be posted on the web site, no addresses, telephone numbers or email addresses.
  • Adults – The first and last name may be used as appropriate to the ministry context. No addresses, telephone numbers or email addresses will be posted, unless specifically authorized by the individual.
  • Staff (Ministry and Administrative) – The full name, office telephone number, and email address may be posted as necessary to coordinate ministry activities. No home telephone numbers or address will be listed, unless specifically authorized by the individual.
  • Missionaries – we are very careful what, if anything, we list. We don't post names, emails, or country, without explicit permission from the Missions Council.

[Note concerning the Bethlehem Church directory: In addition, our church directory does provide address information, including email addresses. This directory is periodically printed and distributed only at the church; it is not publicly available.]
