PASTOR BILL BRIGGS
Assistant Pastor, Worship and Music
Pastor Bill Briggs was born in Pompton Plains, NJ. He was raised in Jefferson Township, NJ where he graduated from high school and was active in music during his school years. Bill was raised in a loving Christian home, where he developed a high respect for God and scripture, and came to a personal knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Bill received his BS in Music Education at Eastern Nazarene College, Wollaston, MA, in 1983. Bill met Lori at ENC. He then went on to complete the course work for the M.Music in Tuba Performance. These studies took place at Pennsylvania State University School of Music, University Park, PA, in 1983-85. In addition, Bill has completed several music and conducting workshops in recent years.
Over the past years, Bill has served as a Music and Youth Director with Hope Baptist Church, Flanders, NJ and a music teacher in Mt. Olive School System, Mt. Olive, NJ, Memorial Junior School, Whippany, NJ, and with Future Musicians, Inc., Cranford, NJ. Since 1994, Bill has been the Pastor of Worship and Music at Bethlehem Church. Here, he plans and directs all aspects of worship, including the adult and teen choirs and the orchestras. He also oversees the directors of Worship Teams and children's music.
Bill has been instrumental in developing a multimedia ministry to incorporate the latest in multimedia technology into the ministries of Bethlehem Church. He also designed and developed FAITH Center for the Arts, which enrolls approximately 200 students in various programs of private instruction on all instruments and voice, Kindermusik for children birth to seven years old, and a comprehensive Music and Art Education Curriculum for students who are educated at home. Bill has led efforts to reproduce FAITH Center for the Arts in two other counties in New Jersey. Satellite locations are now self-sustaining.
Bill also performs as tubist with Covenant Brass.
Bill and his wife, Lori, home-school their two children - Kristen and Jacquelyn.
