Bonnie RussellBONNIE RUSSELL
Director of Women's Ministries

The oldest of four daughters, Bonnie Russell was born at the US Marine Base in Quantico, Virginia. Her parents moved back to West Virginia after WW II, and Bonnie and her sisters were raised in the beautiful hills and valleys of the Kanawha Valley. She accepted Jesus as her Savior as a child in Sunday School.

After graduation from St. Albans High School, Bonnie attended Moody Bible Institute of Chicago and graduated with a diploma in General Bible and Christian Education. She then attended Marshall University School of Nursing in Huntington, West Virginia, receiving an Associate Degree in Nursing.

Bonnie met her husband, Lyman, while in nurse's training. Lyman was the Child Evangelism Fellowship Director in that area. They frequented the local Stewart's Root Beer on dates, and Bonnie confesses she drank a lot of root beer before she really learned to like it. She always knew when Lyman got paid because he added hamburgers to their order of root beer!

After living in Delaware and Louisiana, the Russells moved to Landing, New Jersey in 1976. They have three sons, two daughters-in-law, four grandsons, and one granddaughter. Bonnie worked for 30 years as a registered nurse. In 1998, the Lord called her out of nursing and into Women's Ministry at Bethlehem Church.

Bonnie enjoys the out-of-doors, especially gardening. She collects teacups, likes to visit lighthouses, and occasionally works on miniatures for her dollhouse. Someday she plans to spend the rest of her life reading books on a beach somewhere.
