ART 2

This class is for students who have successfully completed Art 1, based on their portfolio assessment and in-class performance throughout the prior school year. Art 2 students explore:

  • Drawing in Perspective/Mixed Media – Students learn the basics of drawing organic and inorganic forms in one-, two-, and threepoint perspective.
  • Ink and Advanced Color Theory – Students continue their study of techniques, often incorporating other media (duo shade paper and chemicals, pebble-grain paper, collage, print-making, etc.).
  • Human Figure – Students learn the names and locations of various bones and muscle groups incorporating how they affect the outward appearance, posture, and movement capabilities of the body into their drawing.

Students compile a portfolio throughout the year, which is the basis for instructor evaluation, and should anticipate 45 minutes of preparation for every 45 minutes of class. Minimum class enrollment for Art 2 is 6 students. Maximum class enrollment for Art 2 is 15 students.
