ART SURVEY
This class is for students 11-13 years of age. Art Survey students will further explore the world of art, while gaining insight into how their projects relate to world cultures and historical events. Students will experience various media bringing raw materials to life. Projects will be more complex in nature taking 2-3 weeks to complete. Students will learn steps to move from conception through rough drafts ending in final rendering. Projects will include:
- painting in cubism, surrealism and impressionism styles.
- more involved 3-dimensional, sculptural projects
- graphic design projects such as a poster or ad design (visual arts as a communication tool).
- printmaking as it relates to graphic arts
- caricature drawing and story boards.
This class will be fun and creative with a goal oriented purpose of exposing students to the practical application of the arts, where arts forms originated, and how styles emerged and evolved. Students will be expected to participate in a Skill Day interview demonstrating their skill and knowledge to FAITH Center faculty. Minimum enrollment for Art Survey is 6 students with a maximum class size of 12 students.
