INSTRUMNENTAL LESSONS / ENSEMBLES
Instrumental lessons are available for beginning through advanced percussion, woodwind, and brass students.
All students participating in Concert Band, Symphonic Band and Violin Ensemble must enroll in a weekly lesson class. Students learn care and maintenance of their instrument, music fundamentals and techniques, scales, etudes, and standard solo and ensemble literature.
All instrumental students must participate in a Skill Day audition twice each year at which time students demonstrate their skill to FAITH Center faculty. Skill Day results are made available to students.
Students may move to different lesson groups throughout the year, depending on their demonstrated proficiency. All instrumental students must develop a daily practice routine. First-year players should practice 15–20 minutes per day, five days per week. All other instrumental students should practice a minimum of 30 minutes per day, five days per week.
The following instrumental lessons/ensembles are available:
- Level 1: Instrumental lessons designed for the beginning player.
- Level 2: Designed for the musician who has successfully completed Level 1.
- Advanced: Designed for advanced players who demonstrated proficiency at their Skill Day audition.
