JAZZ BAND

Members of this band are selected by audition. Auditions will be conducted on October 11, 2005, during the scheduled class time. Students are eligible to audition if they have played their primary instrument for three or more years and if they are enrolled in: Symphonic Band, Concert Choir, or Advanced Guitar. Interested students should indicate on their fall registration form their desire to participate in Jazz Band. Each student must provide his or her own instrument. Students are exposed to musical styles ranging from Blues to Swing, Latin, and Contemporary. Students also study and learn improvisational techniques. Students selected as members of Jazz Band must participate in the Fine Arts Night and the Spring Concert and are expected to practice and learn their music during their regular, daily practice time.
