SYMPHONIC BAND

This band is open to all students who have played their instrument for at least one full year and demonstrate the necessary proficiency. Symphonic Band meets weekly. Students learn and perform standard band and ensemble literature. Students develop their overall musicality including: balance, phrasing, style, and independence of parts. Each student must provide his or her own instrument. Students registering for Symphonic Band are encouraged to register for a vocal ensemble and are required to enroll in a weekly lesson or instrumental ensemble. Symphonic Band members must participate in the Christmas Concert and the Spring Concert. Students are expected to practice and learn their Symphonic Band music during their regular, daily practice time.
