VOCAL WORKSHOP 1
Vocal Workshop 1 is open to students 13 years of age and up. No prior singing experience is necessary. However, some vocal experience is helpful and a desire to improve as a soloist is required. Vocal Workshop students are eligible to be selected to perform on Fine Arts Night and must participate in Skill Day twice a year to demonstrate their skill to FAITH Center faculty. Students are expected to practice and memorize their music during their regular daily practice time. Students in Vocal Workshop 1 will begin developing the concepts and skills for diaphragmatic breathing and support for projected singing, vowel and consonant production based on the bel canto method, and performance techniques. In this class students learn to apply the above skills in Italian repertoire, classic hymns and songs from American musicals. Each student will have the opportunity to perform in the Spring Concert. Minimum class size is 6.
